1. Qur’an, Hadith, and Islamic legal thought

this covers textual interpretation, theology, law, philosophy, and ethics, which covers academic core of the discipline.

2.   Islamic civilization, interfaith relations, and world history.

This will cover Muslim contributions to world civilization, relations with other faiths, conflict and coexistence, and Islam’s place in global history.

3.   Islam and contemporary global society

This covers the Study of Muslims’ roles in governance, human rights, gender, education, migration, media, and digital culture across different countries.

Department of Pakistan Studies:

1. Geopolitics in the Indian Ocean: major power rivalries and implications for regional states
2. Indus Basin water scarcity and climate-induced conflict risk: Pakistan as a climate-vulnerable state
