Dr. Yasir Mehboob, Assistant Professor (Islamic Studies), General Education Department, Jinnah School of Public Policy & Leadership (JSPPL), NUST, has recently authored a textbook titled Islamic Perspective on Banking: Theory and Practices, published by Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad.

The book provides a pedagogical overview of the principles, practices, and practical implementation of Islamic banking, while also engaging critically with its contemporary challenges, limitations, and critiques. It traces the evolution of Islamic finance and explores key Islamic banking principles and products in the context of the pursuit of a more just and ethical financial system.

The publication reflects Dr. Mehboob’s contribution to the academic study of Islamic finance. It is hoped that the book will serve as a valuable resource for students, teachers, and researchers of Islamic finance.
