NCSC x NSHS Pinktober 2026 (Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign)
-In October 2026, NUST Community Service Club (NCSC), in collaboration with the NUST School of Health Sciences (NSHS), organized a series of activities under Pinktober 2026-Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, to promote awareness, encourage early detection, and support women’s health and empowerment.
The campaign commenced on 1 October 2026 with an opening ceremony at NSHS, featuring a pink ribbon-cutting ceremony, a symbolic release of pink balloons, and awareness-themed decorations, including a Myths vs. Facts segment to address common misconceptions about breast cancer. On 8 October 2026, fundraising stalls at Concordia 1, NUST H-12 Campus, were organized featuring student-made handicrafts, jewelry, crochet items, paintings, flowers, and drawing booths. The stalls raised PKR 18,500, with 25% of the proceeds allocated to women’s empowerment. On 15 October 2026, a community awareness visit was organized in collaboration with Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) at Shah Allah Ditta, D-12. A team comprising 27 NCSC volunteers, including five WIN members, and 11 NSHS representatives, including doctor faculty members, participated in the visit. The doctors conducted a breast cancer awareness session for women from the community, followed by voluntary screening.
Through these initiatives, NCSC and NSHS combined awareness-raising, student-led fundraising, and community outreach to promote women’s health, encourage informed healthcare decisions, and strengthen the university’s commitment to civic engagement and social impact.
